Day 6 Valley of Fire State Park Nov. 24th, 2013

Destination: Valley of the Fire state park in
Nevada

Depart: 9:00
Arrive: 2:30

Weather: We finally have sunshine again and warmer weather!  35-53 clear skies in Nevada

Visit: lowes for some supplies and to fix our water leak, ant bait for the sugar ants that have appeared
     Harmon grocery store and Ross

States: Utah, Arizona, and Nevada

Highway: 15

Trails: from campground we walked over to "atlata rock" to view some ancient petroglyphs. We also visited the visitor center.

Highlights:
Arlene- seeing the sun again after days of rain and snow. Walking outside without a heavy coat on. Viewing the petroglyphs and trying to figure out what they were recording.
Jason- the sun, feeling the warm sun after almost one week
Ella- standing in my walker outside with mommy and daddy. Exploring with my family on the large sandstone mountains. Playing with the black chair and hiding underneath.
Gordo- hiking with my family and smelling lots of new things.

Ella's lower left incisor is close to being out. Jason's says that they are "pigeon toed" since her teeth are very crooked. She tried an orange today and she seems to like Gouda cheese! She is pulling the black chair over and trying to pull herself up but she seems to like hiding underneath better. She is very active and Gordo tries to keep his distance but at times I find them sitting together. She grabs at his back while he licks the air. She screams in excitement when she gets to pet him!

Ah, sunshine and a clear view

Finally we have sunshine!

We're up high!

Petroglyphs! What were they celebrating and recording?
